Väimela Business Park

Väimela Business park is logistically very sound, being located next to the Võru–Põlva support road and is 5 kilometres from the town of Võru. The park consists of two municipally owned plots. The infrastructure is waiting to be developed. The industrial park is nearly 26 hectares. According to the detailed plans, 2 production plots and 19 production/business plots have been planned for the region.

In proximity to the business park is Võrumaa Vocational Education centre’s technical house and laboratory, where students study skills in the field of wood- and metalworking, mechatronics, information technology systems and cleaning services. In addition to this, in the vicinity of the park is one of the biggest manufacturing companies in the county – metal industry company AS Rauameister, where there work over 100 people.

Strong wood and furniture production sector and successful food producers and metal workers – South-East Estonia has tens of mid-sized woodworking and furniture production companies. A considerable part of their produce goes to export and it gives the greater part of the manufacturing industry sales revenue. Qualified workforce preparation and support services – there are 3 different vocational training institutions with circa 2000 students (Võrumaa Vocational Education centre, Vocational Education Centre of Valgamaa, Räpina School of Horticulture). There are county development centres in all county centres that offer support to both starting and operating companies.
